Who I am
About me
I'm Dalton. I like figuring out how things work, and I like building things that other people actually use.
Most of what I do starts as curiosity. I'll get interested in how something works, take it apart, and end up building my own version of it. That's how most of the projects on this site came to exist — nobody asked for them, I just wanted to see if I could.
Computers and hardware are where it started. I've spent a lot of time inside machines: building them, upgrading them, fixing them when they stop cooperating. That naturally turned into software — websites, tools, small utilities that solve a problem I actually had.
Radios are the other half of it. Programming them, tracking equipment, learning how the systems behind them fit together. It scratches the same itch as software does, just with more antennas involved.
A lot of my time goes into online communities. Running a Discord server well is harder than it looks — it's part moderation, part tooling, part just being around consistently. I've built bots, dashboards and application systems to make that side easier.
Outside of the technical stuff, I'm usually listening to modern indie music while I work on whatever the current project is. There's almost always a current project.
